How to Record Screen Video with Snipping Tool

  1. Launch Snipping Tool Video Mode

    Press Win + Shift + R or open Snipping Tool and click the video camera icon on the top mode toggle.

  2. Draw Recording Boundary Box

    Click and drag your mouse cursor over the exact region of the display you want to record.

  3. Configure Audio Toggles

    On the top floating recording bar, click the Mute/Unmute Microphone icon to enable narration, and toggle System Audio on/off for computer sounds.

  4. Start Recording & Stop

    Click Start. After a 3-second countdown, recording begins. Click the red Stop button on the toolbar when finished.

  5. Preview & Export MP4 File

    Review your recorded video in the playback window. Click the Save icon (Ctrl + S) to export a standard .mp4 video file to your disk.
